About Kadin
My service stands out because of the hard work I put in with the student. A lot of teachers will expect a kid to learn from their teaching without the teacher putting in the work. From a kid's perspective, it is very obvious when a tutor will not put in the work. However, I will put in as much as work as necessary to produce a beneficial tutoring session for you or your child.
I enjoy the feeling of a student understanding the content. When you realize that you have put in the work necessary for someone to succeed you realize that you were able to make a difference in someones life, no matter how small of a difference.
I got started teaching through volunteering. I have always loved teaching my peers, but after I started volunteering I fell in love with helping younger students make it through work they once saw tough. A constant schedule and regular students made it an enjoyable time to get to know interesting kids and help them through some fun stuff.
I have spent the last 6 months as a volunteer tutor for multiple organizations. Each week I have put in about 4 hours. I usually teach students in groups of 4 or 1 on 1. Each organization absolutely loves me teaching for the enthusiasm that I deliver to the students. Although I plan to continue to volunteer, I am also trying to make it a gig here!

I will always have a scheduled zoom and text or email the credentials to you a week before our first meeting. During the zoom on the first encounter, I like to spend about 10 minutes getting to know the students. I think this is useful for making analogies during the session. I usually use IXL, Whiteboard, their assignments, and some of my own examples in order to teach students. Now I do not require facecam on, but I will always have mine on with a smile. Now during the examples, I try to engage the student as often as possible by asking the student to do the parts I believe they already can, even if they are simple (I find this keeps the students engaged on the line of reasoning). Finally, at the end of the zoom I will typically run some silly game for five minutes or less, like a drawing contest. I heard if they have fun at the end they will think the entire time they were having fun :)
As a junior in high school I have worked with students that were in 10th grade all the way down to 6th. With older students, I am usually working with struggling students or students that are trying to make it to a B where as with younger students I have worked with a wider range. For some students I helped them pass the class whereas for others we worked ahead.
I think a student should find a teacher that has a relationship with them, or is willing to build one. Math can be a hard concept and if you do not enjoy the person you are trying to learn from at least a little, then you will simply not succeed in learning.
So recently my FLVS teacher for Spanish called me on the phone during a session. I picked it up since the kids were working through examples. When I explained to them what the phone call was about the giggled at me for not turning in my assignment on time, and told their teacher about it. The teacher then sent me a picture of a google translate box that told me to turn in me Spanish assignments on time -- in Spanish. I though it was neat that the students were comfortable collaborating with the teacher to poke fun at me.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should first ask this:
Do I have the pre-requisite knowledge for this topic?
If the answer is no then have the teacher do some review with you first. Next,
Why am I trying to learn this?
Depending on this answer to this question explain you reasoning to your teacher so they can better help you. If the reason is to move forward to harder topics that may require more mastery. If your reason is to get through a singular class, we may have a different approach.

Perfect! He’s awesome, immediately connected with my son and his grades in algebra have improved! I’m glad I hired him!

i think that it was a great session because he taught me a easier way to do the work much faster and efficient
I liked how you were patient.
Doing math on IXL
It has been really helpful to have someone make sense of any difficulty homework or assignments
Kadin has been a helping hand whenever i’ve needed one. He has better explained any problem than my own teachers. From his teaching i’ve been able to actually learn the material without feeling dumb for not understanding. Shoutout to Kadin !
If he explains something and I don’t understand it he will break it down until I do understand it
