About Sallie

I am a retired qualified middle school and high school Math teacher. Since I retired in 2019, I have volunteered to tutor Math for a couple of students privately and at an after school program at a middle school. I would love to keep up with my Math skills and knowledge tutoring.

I enjoy sharing what I know through teaching. After I graduated from high school in Hong Kong, entering the teacher's training college helped me pay for my education, which was important to me at that time.

I majored in Math at Northcote College of Education in Hong Kong. In Hawaii, I was a certified teacher majored in English-as-a-Second- Language in Secondary Education. I passed the highly qualified Math teacher examination over 10 years ago.

I had taught from kindergarten to senior adult basic English, mostly English-as-a-Second-Language and Math.

Starting with $20/hr. I lower the pay when the student shows progress and/or motivation. I increase it when the student is unmotivated and will quit if the student continues to fall behind.
