About Natalie
I have first-hand experience on what it takes to excel in STEM courses. I graduated high school with a 4.65/4.00 GPA, 1570 SAT, and ranked in the top 10% of my high school graduating class. I have taken AP Cal AB, AP Cal BC, AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, AP Statistics, AP English Language, AP World History and AP US History. I was accepted into universities including Rice University and NYU.
I graduated from University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics summa cum laude. I took and excelled in courses such as Biology 1, Physics 1, Chemistry 1 and 2, Organic Chemistry, Genetics, Calculus 1-3, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Stochastic Processes, and have experience coding with MATLAB. I got 200/200 on the ETS Major Mathematics Field Test.
I am currently studying for my Juris Doctor at University of California- Los Angeles.
My strong background in STEM courses gives me the understanding of what it takes to not only excel at a particular class, but how to build a foundation of knowledge that can be built upon for further higher education. I am very logically minded and am eager to help make STEM courses more accessible and understandable to students.
I started teaching my peers in middle school when I first began Algebra 1 and have continued throughout the years and additional courses. I have first hand experience of what it takes to succeed at these STEM courses and know how to teach it to others.
I have experience in tutoring for 5 years in courses such as algebra (1 and 2), chemistry, and physics. Additionally, I was selected as a mentor for a program with MD Anderson and have learned valuable interpersonal skills to enhance my skills as a tutor.

I will meet with the student for a diagnostic meeting and get a feel for what subject they are struggling with, along with their timeline, schedule, and preferred learning method. I will then create a schedule and a lesson plan for the student. I am very flexible with each student and will get a feel for what will work best for both of us.
I mainly work with students in 7-12 grade, but am open to all age levels and any courses.
I would say look for someone willing to understand your perspective and who will analyze where the problem is coming from. Empathy will get teachers much farther than raw knowledge if the teacher cannot relate to or understand the student.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should assess what actions they have taken to misunderstand what they do, they should assess their way of learning and the teaching method of their teachers, and they should ask try to look at the problem from a different perspective.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
My daughter is usually a really good learner, but even with a great teacher at school, she struggled with picking up AP Physics. I figured a tutor would help so I found Natalie because she is one of the highest-ranked students at the best high school in Houston. According to my daughter, Natalie was able to break down really abstract concepts and equations and make them more digestible. Without her help, my daughter wouldn’t have been able to pass her physics class. I am really grateful for her help and would recommend her expertise to anyone studying math or sciences.
Before having a tutor, I was having a hard time with math, especially pre-calculus. I was introduced to Natalie by a family friend who said that she was an excellent tutor and could help me with pre-calculus. After a few lessons and sessions, I finally understood math and pre-calculus. The way she explains things makes everything less confusing, and I was finally seeing an improvement on my tests and quizzes.
She helped me study for my final in Algebra 2 in just 3 weeks and I went from an estimated C to an A on the exam. She was very understanding, flexible, and empathetic to my problems and worked through many questions with me! 10/10 would recommend and I will continue to work with Natalie for any other troubling subjects I have!
