About Cassandra

I know that my Education degree is truly needed right during these stressful times, when children are being taught remotely, on a hybrid model, or when the parent(s) are working from home and teaching their children as well. I taught Elementary school for five years. I absolutely loved my time in the classroom before I started raising my own family. There is nothing like teaching children how to read, develop the skill, or even more importantly, teaching them to love to read. I believe in the mastery of a subject, however, changing a teaching technique for a child may need inorder for the child to understand the concept. Flexibility in teaching is key!

I enjoy helping the students! And the parents. Sometimes, the students just need a different perspective on the subject.

I always wanted to teach since I can remember!

I went to Indiana University and I graduated with a degree in Education.

About the lesson

I like to get to know you for a few minutes with your parent. I would like to hear both of your expectations for the sessions, would you like to be working on homework, comprehension, or test preparation, or a combination of these skills. I am happy to set aside a few minutes every session to plan the daily session. I also like to hear how you both think things are going.

I have worked with High Schoolers, First, second and third graders.

If you would like someone fun, patient, and someone that would like to see you through the year then I would like to tutor you. I enjoy the relationships. You need someone that understands how you learn and will adapt their teaching to your learning.

There is nothing better than teaching children to read at the beginning of the year. I love the beginning of the year! The progress is amazing!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Let me know what you have tried to first- if that is the situation. If it doesn't work, then we will work it out together!

"How did they get that answer? I got 'X'". This is an excellent question.

Another excellent question is "How am I supposed to get all of this done by then?" Sometimes they just need things broken down into smaller parts, timelines, etc. more manageable units.
