About Louis
I have been a teacher for 3 years and I have been a tutor for 5 years as well. I have finished the Masters program at the University of Louisville. Will be moving toward a PhD program and understand the needs all students and can help create a path for success.
I absolutely love the lightbulb moment in the students face when they have been working so hard to try and understand a concept, and finally get it. The pure joy someone has when they understand that math is for everyone and gain the confidence to push forward in their academic career.
I began teaching because I noticed the positive impact that I had with students on a day to day basis working as a tutor and that love carried over to the teaching realm. I believe that every student has the ability to learn math at the highest level possible. I just want to be the positive light for a student in their academic career.
I have tutored through the Youth Action Project for 2 years, that was based in the highschool. Following this, I worked in the private schools teaching/tutoring middle and highschool mathematics. Then, I moved here to Louisville through Teach Kentucky and have completed the Masters of Teaching at the University Of Louisville, while teaching in JCPS. Now, I am about to move into the PhD program for Curriculum and Instruction at the University Of Louisville.

I like to take the time to understand where each student is at the specific moment (pre-assessment) and figure out what is the best course of action.
I have worked with many different types of students: Elementary, Middle, Highschool, English as Second Language, ADD/ADHD Students, Auditory Learners, Visual Learners, Hands On Learners, etc.
Find the teacher that you feel comfortable with, one that cares about your wellbeing first because many people can teach what you don't know but not many will be the right person for you to learn from.
Picking up my brand new puppy with my girlfriend and making our small family bigger.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What specifically don't you understand about a topic?
What do you understand and what don't you understand?
What am I missing from the situation?
What is the best way for me to learn this?/What is the problem with the way I'm learning this right now?

Louis provides knowledge and understanding to each individual student, giving them the confidence they need to succeed. He is passionate about learning and giving 100% to his students. He is by far a 5 star!! I highly recommend him.
He is very passionate about teaching math. He makes sure that you understand the material in the most efficient way. If you don’t understand it, he breaks it down step-by-step and gives you real-world examples. I can honestly say, he is one of the best math tutors! He genuinely wants to help people learn. He even goes above and beyond, by not only tutoring, but by being a mentor and guiding you through your educational goals.
I been impressed by Redd’s excellent service! I’ve brought many students to him because I know how passionate and caring he is about his students. Such a very supportive tutor and will genuinely help with what needs to be helped. Always had a great, fun, energetic tone when he’s tutoring. I have been telling my friends/other students about his service as I am so impressed!
Louis can teach all levels and teach in alternative ways for students success.
