About Mckenzie
Through teaching, I want to inspire curiosity within students through appealing content directly to them, motivating them to learn and how they can directly apply the content to the real world. . I feel that through my experience and reflection throughout the years Ive improved in my ability to continuously demonstrate compassion, empathy, hope, faith and trust within my relationship with students. Through demonstrating and upholding those characteristics students and I have created lasting bonds.

My process first involves getting to know the student to figure out what the student is interested in, what their family life is like and what they dislike. After then getting to know them through conversation and different activities, I would ask them and plan activities around their goals for the summer. Ie. have a SMART goal activity where they specifically identify their goal for this summer, then assess how we they are progressing towards the goal. After identifying and creating their own goals, I will create mini lessons based around specific objectives that will allow us to progress towards reaching the overarching goal of the summer.
