About Caige

Tutoring for me is a way that I myself can learn more about me and stay in touch with subject that I have developed a passion and love for. I love the feeling of seeing my students grow not only academically, but as people. I try to not just teach school subjects, but also how they can learn more about themselves. I once was the person that struggled in all my subjects, and just gave up because I felt like I could not understand it. However, I grew and was able to understand how I could effectively learn, and that opened me up to a passion and love for many subjects like math, and computer science. That’s why it’s one of my goals, to help you grow as a person. Professors, teach on a level that is meant for 300-500 students, while with me you could get a one-to-one experience that will give you the opportunity to learn more about your self and open up to the possibility of finding your own passion through learning. I have helped my sister place in advanced classes, and many of my friends get an A in classes they went into believing they would have to drop out of. My approach to tutoring is to grasp the problem you are trying to overcome and assist you with overcoming your own problem. I can show you the answers all day but that will not help you overcome that difficult problem. That is why I like to get a problem you struggled with, walk you through it, then present you a problem that is like it, and overlook you solve it, then once you’re feeling solid. I will quiz you before we say you have overcome that problem. I will always be there to help you learn and grow; with every question you may have.

I started with tutoring my sister to get placed in advanced math going into Highschool. I found it very fun to teach her this stuff and see her succeed, while also teaching her how this stuff can relate to math in the future, or how it can be applied.

Most of my training in tutoring is just my experiencess with my sister, and my friends. I have had successful experiences with them because school is a passion of mine, I love to open people up to that passion. I am a studen in college, and have taken entry college level courses in biology, chemistry, and physics. Out of those sciences I feel the most confident in Chemistry, and Biology. I specialize in Computer Science, and Mathematics of which I have taken calculus 1 through 3, and currently enrolled in discrete math. About the lesson

I like to get to know my student first. I want to completely and fully understand what they need help with so I can properly approach the best way to teach them. I like to say with new students its all about establishing a relationship, for me to best teach you I have to learn the best way to teach you because every person is different. In general I try to get the student to open up to concepts and ideas in the subject, and try to explain to them that it is manageable. The First step is to prevent yourself from getting overwhelmed by the problem and taking what you know and applying it.

Majority of students I have worked with are in college. They are usually friends, but my longest student has been my sister, and currently she is a freshman in highschool. I am completely willing to teach highchool, and middle school.

I definetly suggest cooperation. Make sure they fit your schedule, and have clear knowledge of the subject. Be aware they might blank some rules, and have to work out a problem to understand it them selves, even with advanced math on my background sometimes simple algebra will mess me up. However, its the concepts that are important. Make sure they can give you examples, and quiz you on the matierial to understand your level of understanding.

My sister in Geometry was recently learning a little discrete math, and I was so happy. However, her school taught her so lightly, such a important area of math given a quater of a class period that will be on the test. Of course she was confused on what Trust tables were. I explained to her the basic concepts of discrete math(an advanced math course) in a very simple but very accurate way that she will forever be able to apply, not just in that test. All done in a little bit longer than her teacher in her class did it.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Personally I dont think you should have to think through any questions. The best teacher will teach a calculus student that forgot simple addition like 1+1 in the nicest most effective manor. However, comming prepared with questions will maximize the amount of work youll get done in the time we spend together.

For pricing it is best to contact me about. I am a realistic person, and hope to do this as a job that gets me through school teaching what I love, and opening up a passion to many other students. If it is not an online job I may ask for reimbursement for gas ontop of the hourly rate depending on the distance.
