About Logan

Hello! I’m currently attending UCLA, studying cognitive science while also fulfilling the pre-med curriculum.

I’ve tutored math and science both privately and in a tutoring center, accruing over three years of experience. As a student myself, I realize that simplifying material, rather than memorizing long classroom-taught policies, can greatly improve exam performance. Additionally, I achieved a perfect score on the math section of the SAT (my tutoring specialty), so I know that simply knowing how to manipulate test information is a huge plus. My goal is to increase my students’ simplification abilities, so they do not see their material as daunting!

In order to best benefit students, I’d highly welcome/recommend any resources to be sent my way before a lesson to ensure optimal teaching strategies on my part. Feel free to contact me, I’ll provide a fast response and look forward to working with you!

I enjoy the moment of seeing something my students once struggled with becoming second nature. It’s rewarding and the reason I continue to tutor!

I have worked in a tutoring center, one-on-one in groups, and in a classroom setting with students for over four years, and during that time, engaging and motivating students in their area of study has become second nature. Over the last year of that span, I have taken part in a UCLA-sponsored chemistry tutoring program, and I've acquired even more effective learning strategies in that time.

About the lesson

I'll diagnose their area of struggle, give them a brief yet effective foundational overview, then grant them effective strategies to solve similar problems.

I have worked with countless skill levels of students, from elementary school to calculus and college chemistry. These students have all had different goals of the lessons, from preparing for a standardized test to passing a readiness test to getting a high grade in a class.
