About Devin

Hello! My name is Devin Rolon. I just obtained my Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from George Mason University, where I was also a Division 1 wrestler. I am also a certified Engineer in Training (EIT), and a current Signal Engineer for Consolidated Rail Corporation.

Ever since I was in elementary school, I have always loved Math! I have always thought it was the most stimulating, challenging, real-world applicable, and interesting topic in school. Which is why I love teaching it to people who think otherwise.

My goal for these tutoring sessions will be to not only assist you in excelling in the listed courses, but to also motivate/inspire you to be self-sufficient for future challenges that come your way. I look forward to meeting you!

I love teaching students how to handle the unknown. Although a certain subject might be difficult in the meantime, I believe what's most important is learning how to figure out solutions to ALL problems, current and future.

I have always loved teaching ever since I was young. Understanding something you once thought was impossible to wrap your head around is such a rewarding feeling. An even better feeling is to help others feel that sense of accomplishment as well. Now that I am finished college and in the working world, I can officially say I am ready to teach!

Apart from being a registered Engineer and obtaining my Bachelors, the only real experience I have is working with my colleagues in college and helping out my younger family members.

About the lesson

Taking a 10-15 minute period to introduce myself and get to know the student and their goals. Then developing a plan to achieve the goals with the student, and then acting upon that plan.

I have worked with students all over the spectrum. From extraverts to intraverts, focused to unfocused, I consider myself very observant and will develop a formula for success no matter what "type" of student you are. I strongly value communication, and will not waste anytime with the student and I not on the same page.

To be comfortable and confident with the teacher. In my life I have realized that I teacher can make you dread a certain subject for the rest of your life or make you fall in love with it. That being said, committing to a tutor is more than just a financial investment. Therefore, pursue a teacher that not only makes you excited to learn, but conifdent as well.

I currently accepted an offer to be a Signal Engineer at Conrail which was so exciting for me for multiple reasons. I have been on the job hunt for about a year and two months, and this pandemic hasn't helped one bit. So to finally see all my hard work pay off is remarkable.
