About Claudia

I am a sophomore at the University of Florida with a 3.92 GPA. I enjoy writing and math, and I love science. I was a tutor for the National Honor Society and also for ELL (English Language Learners). I am patient and kind to those I tutor to ensure they succeed. I have taken a variety of AP, AICE, Dual Enrollment, and Honors courses in high school. I have learnt earth science, marine science, physics, biology, and chemistry. I can also tutor in math up to Calculus 2. I am proficient writer and reader as well. I can help with both Spanish and Portuguese as I speak both languages fluently.

I love to help students realize their full potential. Often textbooks and teachers can make things overtly complicated and having a student understand a complex subject is incredibly satisfying.

I have always enjoyed explaining difficult concepts and understanding subjects to their basic level.

I have always tutored my friends and classmates from middle school to college.

I was a tutor for the National Honor Society, and an ELL (English Language Learner) Tutorr for 2 years. I have tutored both individuals and groups.

I am currently a UF student and have good experience with math, and I am able to tutor subjects from Pre-Calculus to Calculus 2.

About the lesson

I first understand the reason why the student needs help, wehther it is for an upcoming test, curiosity or want for improvement to better target their needs. I learn a bit about them, their amibitions and goals, and share my own experiences to build a connection. Then I understand their weaknesses and strenghts in relation to the subject, and set up a plan on tutoring targeting the areas that the students wants/and or needs help with.

I have worked with students as young as 10 and as old as 19 (college student).

Look that they put emphasis on understanding rahter than dry explanations, especially for a subject like math, where truly understanding the concepts can make the difference between an A and a C.

I have recently helped a friend understand Sequences and Series in Calculus 2, and it was quite nice to see him enjoy the subject more because of it.
