About Gian

I provide tutelage for Advanced Placement courses from the College Board including:

- AP Calculus AB

- AP Computer Science A

- AP Computer Science Principles

I also provide tutelage in non-AP courses such as Algebra 1 and 2, and Precalculus. I also tutor SAT mathematics. In addition to mathematics, I also tutor introductory Java and Python programming.

Ever since I was young, I've always had an affinity for mathematics and programming. In particular, I'm very keen on programming with Python, as its syntax is very user-friendly compared to other languages such as Java or C++. I work on a variety of projects in my free time, the biggest such one that I'm still working on being a discord bot.

I got my start tutoring other people on the social media platform Discord in various servers for experience when I was younger, so I have been tutoring for about 3 years.

I have experience tutoring students from around the United States and other countries online via the social media platform Discord and have provided assistance in classes including (but not limited to) AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Computer Science A and AP Computer Science Principles.

About the lesson

On the first meeting with a student, I will ask the student with what sub-topics in the requested topic they are struggling with (if the student has any specific problems they want me to work through with them, I will explain how to work through the problem and reach the correct answer). Although optional, if the student has any notes from that particular topic that they took, that can help me pinpoint more accurately what it is that the student is struggling with, and therefore assist them more efficiently.

Since my tutoring experience in the past is primarily with Collegeboard's Advanced Placement courses, I have tutored primarily high school students, and in rarer cases, middle school students.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Before talking to a teacher about their needs, a student first needs to acknowledge that they are struggling in a certain topic, and try the best they can to pin-point what it is that they are struggling with (if the student cannot figure out exactly what it is that they're struggling with, they should provide as specific an answer on what they're struggling with as possible). Afterwards, they should take their findings to a teacher that will help them with the relevant material.

Details

For the foreseeable future, I will charge $20 per session for AP Calculus and other math courses such as Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Precalculus. For SAT math and intrudoctory programming in Python and Java, and AP Computer Science courses, I will charge $25 per session.
