About Seth
I tutor students online in mathematics, economics, and vocal music technique.
I am a National Merit Scholar and a college student in mathematics and economics. I have years of tutoring experience at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. I graduated high school with a 4.3 GPA, a 35 ACT score, and a 1550 SAT score.
On the music side, I have studied and practiced vocal technique in choir, theatre, and classical lessons for years. I sang in the prestegious Pacific Youth Choir and was offered singing scholarships to several universities in the northwest. I now serve as the president of an a cappella group and the bass assistant section leader in the Willamette Chamber Choir, and I study classically as a high baritone.
I volunteered at my elementary school during my senior year of high school, spending well over 100 hours tutoring K-5 students in math, reading, and social studies. I had intervention students who I worked on reading fluency with three times each week, as well as nine rotating classrooms of which I helped out in two each day.
I also volunteered last semester at my university's college access program. I had the opportunity to work with underrepresented high school students on coursework for a variety of AP classes.
During my senior year of high school, I created "Econ Club," a weekly after-school tutoring group which helped students stay sharp on AP Economics material and optionally prepare to compete in the National Economics Challenge.
Aside from formal tutoring, I have stayed ahead and helped my friends and classmates with their learning all my life.

I'm a people person who loves making connections, so I typically start by chatting with a new student a little bit and establishing mutual interests. I have found in my own studies that the most conducive habits to effective learning are a positive mindset and a good academic realtionship with the teacher.
