About Antoinette

I am a retired Educator/Tutor I am also a retired professional school counselor. I am wholistic in my approach to developing academic growth. A confident student is a successful student that will blossom. 🌷

I enjoy that Eureka moment when you see the light bulb come on after weeks of hard work and dedication. When a scholar understands and growth follows that makes my day. 🌷

My first job as a teenager was teaching at a library after school. I also taught adults who could not read as a stay at home mother. I home schooled my daughter and I volunteered my time at her school to assist the teacher. When my children were old enough I went to college my first major was education. I had such a passion to help children I wanted to be more preventative in my approach to understand human behavior so I majored in sociology. However, with my background and education my first career opportunity after graduation was as a teacher. So I realized teaching is my passion and I later received an opportunity to teacher character education as a school counselor. However after approximately 18 years, I was given another opportunity to return to teaching. Therefore, I went full circle and retired as a teacher just before the full effect of COVID. I still have a passion and love for teaching.

I am a retired educator with over 20 years of experience as a K-12 certified elementary teacher and a K-12 certified school counselor. I have a master's degree in Professional Counseling.

About the lesson

New students will receive a one-on-one face to face meeting via Zoom so that I can get to know him or her first. This will also give me an opportunity to develop an individual educational plan that targets their strengths, weakness and goals that promote growth. I will also develop a plan that targets their social, emotional learning goals. Once our goals are established we will determine the best days and times to meet.
