About Sakshi

Welcome to LearnWithSakshi! My name is Sakshi and I love teaching children and young adults. I aim to develop students' academic ability and independence. I am dedicated to fully pursuing the potential of each individual student by providing guidance for students to be able to do the exercises and homework on their own. As a result, students will learn that they can do anything if they try, build self-esteem, and develop the ability to take on new challeneges for themselves.

A little bit about me: I graduated from the 30th best high school in the United States, Gretchen Whitney High School in 2013. During my time at high school and college, I tutored in person for 3 years at Kumon. I tutored children from the ages of 5-17. After graduating high school, I completed my degree in Business Economics and Finance with a minor in Political Science from California State University, Fullerton in 2018. I understand the value of education and have been a tutored student and mentor myself. Today, I work in California politics creating change in education for the State.

I have a huge interest in children and understand that during these challenging times it can be hard to focus and learn virtually. I am here to help and guide your child. I will make sure your child does not fall behind and learns every step of the way.

About the lesson

If you are interested, I would recommend to reach out to me to have a preliminary conversation to understand the goals of the student and what the student expects of me and my teaching prior to our session.

Previously, I have worked with young children ranging from the age group of 5 to 18. I focus on working with students for a time range of 30 to 60 minutes depending on the need of the student.

If you are a student looking to hire a teacher, read their background. Review their history and educational experience and have an initial conversation with them to see if you are comfortable working with them. It is important to create a sense of trust and relationship between the teacher and student.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
It is important to be clear and concise with the goals you have have for the teacher and for the student. For example, what is the student trying to get out of the tutor: is it how to be more focused? Is it a specific concept? Is it time management? Being clear with the tutor will help the tutor meet the needs of the student.
