About SOCHEATA

I really enjoy learning math and I always delighted to help others to become good at math.

I was always selected by my math professor in high school to help other friends who struggle with math. I also help my sister, my relative and my classmates when they have a problem.

Qualified for National Math outstanding students competition; received the third rank in medical entrance exam; awarded ACE Diploma; graduated ACE General English Program; awarded certificate each year for being one of the top 5 students, grades 1-12; received “A” grades in science and math in National Exams; awarded certificate of excellence in English speaking contest; awarded a certificate for completing Gender and Society course; served as Alpha Gamma Sigma Social Media Director; served as Computer Science club Secretary

It is an online website that provide many benefits to students who need help for math. Personally, I can gained more experienced to teach many different kind of students so I'll be better each time I teach. I always happy to help students who struggle to move on, giving supports and see their success in class.

I will ask questions to recall the basic formula or method that is relevant to the new topic. I will start by telling about the important part to take away from that lesson.

I had prepared for national math outstanding in high school, Cambodia. It is a math olympiad exercise. I had learned a higher level of math than the average level in my country's high school. Once I come to the U.S., what I learned in high school is the same as Calculus I and II here and it is even more difficult problem than what I learn here.

About the lesson

I will solve the same problem with different methods and I will ask the student which style makes more sense or more understand for them. It makes me know the student more and gives them feel comfortable to learn with me and trust me.

I have worked with students from the middle to the bottom ranks. They are sometimes my classmates or friends from other classes. I also help my own sister and my relative who at the younger level.

I know that we were not living in a big city, it is hard to get a great teacher in school. I would like all the students to get help on time because it will be easy for you to go to a higher level of math when you are strong with basic math. You will not like to learn the subject any longer if you are struggling with that subject so I hope the student brave to get help.

Recently, I help my host family's daughter in middle school with math. Since the Coronavirus pandemic, I spend my free time teaching her, which keep me from being bored, improve my teaching skill and help her to learn more problems while her school is off.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I would suggest the student spend time choosing a problem and work on time without getting help from a book or the internet. You only know you are struggling when you work on the problem by yourself without looking at anything. After that, take note of that problem and ask when you meet the teacher. Then you know what are you going to ask so it is easier for the teacher to help the part you do not understand.
