About Caleb

Why choose Eklund Math Tutoring for your educational needs? Well, as Caleb Eklund, I'd like to tell you a little about my qualifications as your prospective future tutor! I am a junior at Bates College, a junior ivy league school in the NESCAC. There, I'm pursuing an undergraduate degree in physics with a minor in French and mathematics. As for my experience, I have worked alongside the local middle school in my college's town, helping to convey to kids the importance of higher education. I also worked as a private, calculus, pre-calculus, algebra two, and geometry tutor for many kids in the surrounding area. All my students were able to improve their grades significantly and surprisingly enjoy the process. Besides my credentials, I think a good relationship between student and teacher is pivotal, and I'd love the chance to chat before any studying begins. I love teaching and mathematics. Simple as that. Once I found out I had a knack for it, I decided to try and do more with it and have grown from there.

I am a prospective physics major, math, and French minor. This past semester, I received all A's in my classes, which included: Chemistry, Multivariable Calculus, Mathematical Methods in the Physical Sciences, and Electricity, and Magnetism. Besides this, I've worked as a tutor in mathematics for middle school, high school, and college students.

About the lesson

I work very hard to understand the individual needs of each of my students. Whether it be a more hands-on approach or something with a little bit more independence, discovering what a student needs is a crucial part of the learning process. Once I find this, practice makes perfect, and I spend lots of time outside of meetings to tailor exercises for my students.

Make sure they care about your individual needs; Many teachers and tutors don't incorporate this essential factor. Besides this, make sure your tutor is qualified; unfortunately, this usually means having to undergo at least one session.

My hourly rate is negotiable; however, it usually fares in the range of 40-60 dollars an hour. My prices are set to include the cost of my work outside of meetings, creating practice problems and lesson plans.
