About Amina

I have a strong devoted passion in helping kids learn and develop the ambition to exceed any given standards. As a student myself, I am always learning. The extent of knowledge has no boundaries; it welcomes all who come from different walks of life. I have been working with kids from a very young age (both neurotypical and special needs children) and I enjoy doing so. I always wanted not just myself to succeed in the classroom, but also others to succeed as well.

About the lesson

I first get to know the student's likes/dislikes, academic strength ms/weaknesses, hobbies, and any reinforcers I could use to make the whole process more rewarding for the child. It is important for me that the tutoring session is as engaging and productive as possible. Depending on how long the session is, I would place intervals of breaks (5 min) when the child can utilize the restroom, have a snack, etc. Children can become disinterested if the session becomes more a lecture which would hinder any improvement (less likely to pay attention if disinterested).

I worked with children of ages 3 - 12. I mainly worked with special needs children but also have worked with neurotypical children.
