About Angela

I have an undergraduate degree in special education and a master's of elementary education. I have taught students in grades K-9 and have been the classroom teacher for grades 2, 3, and 4. I have endorsements in ESL and math.

I have helped out in classrooms all my life! I spent a year teaching special education and language intervention in Park City. I then moved to Spectrum Academy and worked with kids on the spectrum. I currently teach at Wasatch Peak Academy teaching general education 3rd grade. I work especially well with kids who have disabilities and kids who learn through the arts.

I love the "aha!" moments. When students are struggling with a concept, it can seem impossible. When they work hard enough and it finally clicks, that's the "aha" moment. They finally understand and feel accomplished. I love finding new ways to challenge my students and to help fill in gaps. I love building relationships with kids and I love helping them become well-rounded members of society, both academically and socially.

My mom is a teacher, so I have helped out in classrooms my entire life. I went to the University of Utah for my undergraduate degree and Utah State University for my master's degree.

I have a bachelor's degree in mild/moderate special education and a master's of elementary education.

About the lesson

First, I like to get to know my new students. It is important to build rapport and comfort for students to best learn. I like to play games to assess my students' strengths and struggles. I explain what we will do, what our goals are, and how we can achieve these goals.

I have helped in classrooms K-9, provided small-group or one-on-one interventions in the elementary levels, and provided all classroom instruction in grades 2, 3, and 4. I have worked with students with disabilities and behavioral challenges, gifted and talented students, students with anxiety, and general education students.
