About Nick
Whether I'm working with pre-algebra or AP Calculus students, the key is in the questions I ask. It's important for me to put the heavy lifting on you, but I also create an environment where it's okay to be unsure or feel stuck. I know what questions to ask, I know when to rephrase or use another method, and I know how to give the right amount of challenge to advance you forward.
While I'm no longer full-time in the classroom, I still enjoy working with students to help them feel successful. Math is a common non-favorite, and it's my job to show students that they can be successful if they buckle down and push their brain.
I have a Master of Education (M.Ed) in Instructional Practice. I taught for 6 years in Nashville, TN (always math, middle and high, public and charter), and I was also a math coach overseeing the math teachers in my school.

I like to know about their experiences with school in general. I ask what are some things that previous teachers have done that they felt were helpful, but also things that were not helpful. The more that I can get them to talk, the more I can distract them from thinking about how much they don't like math.
