About Kenzie

Greetings,

Do you want to learn to play the piano in a way that is totally applicable? Well let's do it! My name is Kenzie Carey and I would love to be your piano teacher. I love music and I love teaching piano to my students.

I’ve been playing piano for over 25 years. I’ll teach you to play your favorite songs and much more. I have a very simple but effective way of teaching the piano. It will be a fantasic journey.

I absolutely love watching the "light bulb" come on at the various stages along the journey as my students understand how "it" works.

This is a great question? I started teaching as a result of many inquiries for piano lessons after playing the piano/keyboards at either church or various social events.

Regarding educaton & training, as a youth I took piano lessons. And as a young adult I took private piano lessons & learned theory to enhance my talent as a piano player.

About the lesson

My typical process for working with a new student is to get information from the student. For example; what are your piano goals? what is your favorite song? What kind of music do you want to play? How do songs make you feel?

Based on their answers, I will begin our lesson with that particular song or one similar.

I have worked with a few types of lessons. Senior Citizens, adults, teens and children. Even children dianosed with autisim .

I would advise a student looking to hire a piano teacher to explore different teachers. Not all teachers are created equally. I've been the student that did enjoy piano lessons. And I have been the student that looked forward to piano lessons each week.

Most recently, at the end of the school year, a 8 year old student recieved a standing ovation and high praise for surprising his school at the end of the year talent show. I'm fond of it because it boosted his confidence and made him feel amazing. Needless to say, I was very proud of his hard work.
