About Kenneth

One of the best martial arts schools in Manatee county, JMAF offers traditional Taekwondo, rigorous fitness regimens, self-defense, weapons, and a family environment with faith in Christ.

With over 25 years experience and a 6th Dan black belt master in the Amrican Taekwondo Foundation, Master Thompson provides one of the best systems of martial arts and self-defense in the county.

I love the thought knowing I am impacting people's lives with confidence and instilling life-changing goals and actions.

I started teaching martial arts since the early times for instructor trainees when I was 14, and have never stopped. At that time I was already a 2nd Degree black belt. In 2011 I moved to FL to teach at a charter school that offered martial arts as a P.E. elective and also taught an after-school class. I continue to train and teach in my own independent studio now since 2015 and still condition myself daily.

About the lesson

We offer a FREE WEEK TRIAL!! We also offer a FREE uniform upon registration after the trial and discounts depending on specials and for veterans, teachers, military, police, firefighters, and EMTs. We offer contracts with exceptional rates for single patrons, kids, teens, adults, and families.

Young kids (ages 3-6)

Older kids (7 +)

Teens, and Adults, and even seniors.

Make sure you are hiring a teacher that teaches realistic self-defense with their traditional values, and can interpret the lesson for all who train there. Each person learns differently and good instructors are able to adapt people to learn and train as such and even learn proper self-defense that is effective from novices to professionals.

I am always fond of our ATF tournaments (they are like family reunions where we compete and beat each other up with a smile on our faces!)

Can more family members join? YES!!

Compare your prices to other schools? We range from either similar to a little lower in price than average martial arts schools locally.

Can my child train without "sparring"? Sparring is the most effective means to training in self-defense, and we do our best to keep it safe yet competitive and straining for good reason: fighting in real life is strenuous and unforgiving. Martial arts as a sport even encorporates sparring, and most of the training encorporates tactics FOR sparring and it would be difficult to understand the process without it. Sparring is also a requirement to progress in our system.

Do you offer anti-bully training? Our system is inclusive of anti-bully and safety/awareness for all ages (kids are not the only ones who face bullies)

My two boys ages 8 and 14 have taken TKO at Jurassic martial arts for the last 6 months. They love to go and it’s a great workout. The other kids are really nice and the atmosphere is both positive and challenging. Master Thompson is great with the kids and cares about their character. He works just as hard to build character as he works to build their martial arts skills. I highly recommend trying it if you are looking for martial arts in the Palmetto area.
