About Alyssa

My students will thrive under an experiential learning environment catered to their ability and at their own pace. I facilitate learning in a low-stress environment and strive for excellence in all of my students based on goals we set together. I have taught all ages from 5-100, all levels and all learning abilities. Together we will figure out what type of learner you are and what approach will best help you to succeed. I am here as a coach and friend, I am always open to talking about what is and isn't working for you. Let's get inspired!

I started in high school and have continued through college and now into my second, and soon to be third degree. I have a passion for sharing inspiration and love of music with all.

I have a bachelor's degree in music education, I have 6 years of private lesson experience. I have classical, jazz and extensive music theatre and music theory experience. I will have a musical theatre certificate as of this December (I have one credit left), and I will be seeking a music masters degree this upcoming year.

About the lesson

We'll start with easing into learning -- I'll ask you some questions about your level, your experience, and, in your own words, what your goals are moving forward. I'll allow time for any initial questions before we get started, and we'll run though some simple exercises to see/hear where we're at. Really, the first lesson will allow me to learn about YOU first; your passion, your likes, strengths, and things you have yet to learn, and we will be able to create a plan for you from there.

All types and all ages! I'm very personable and love working with people!

Trust the process. A music degree takes a lot of passion, work ethic, dedication and hard work with highly trained professionals--they are your go-to and will often be more expensive, but it's worth the extra bit for quality lessons.

So many things. I'm working on starting a private study on music ability and nature vs. nurture.
