About Jamie Lynn

Watching confidence grow is the best part of my job. Learning to improve something that is uniquely yours (your voice) gives students confidence that goes white them wherever they are. Not everyone is meant to be an amazing singer. But everyone can be a better stronger singer.

I have been teaching vocal lessons for 18 years. It is my favorite thing to do. Check out my website for more information.

I was singing at a popular venue in Times Square NY and a costumer asked me what I did when I wasting singing there, I said I teach. ( this was not true, I had never taught before). Two days later that person and two of thier friends were taking weekly classes from me. And so it started. I loved it. I have never stopped.

I started taking private voice lessons weekly when I was 13. I didn't stop till after college. I still take lessons, just not weekly. I have a BFA in Musical theatre with a concentration in Dance from Otterbein University in central Ohio. I have performed in NYC and in many regional theatres. 12 years ago I decided that teaching voice was starting to become a full time job. So I opened a performing arts studio in Louisville Ky where I grew up. Eight years later my husband got a job in Tampa Florida so we packed up. I have been teaching voice and musical theatre there from the first week I moved. I teach between 20-30 hours a week.

About the lesson

First class is always used to get to know the student and the voice. We will explore their vocal range and discuss what they like and dislike about thier sound. I have been teaching for close to 20 years and making students feel comfortable is my first goal. Singing is fun and freeing. I want to make sure my students leave class knowing the they learned something new about themselves and thier voice. It is the best job!

I work with students ages 9 and up. Of course classes are different depending on age and goals. Every student of mine gets individual lesson plans. I make the class fit the student.

You need to LIKE your vocal instructor. They need to have credentials. If you take a class with me and we don't hit it off, please look for someone you enjoy.

Details

I charge on the 1/2 hour or full hour. My prices are $30 for the 1/2 hour and $50 for the hour.
