Teaching Techniques and Methodology
My teaching approach is centred around building confidence through strong foundational skills. I use a structured yet flexible methodology, adapting each session to suit the individual needs and learning style of the child. I incorporate phonics-based instruction, practical number activities, and guided practice to reinforce understanding.
I draw on recognised programmes such as Read Write Inc, Fisher Family Trust, and Debbie Hepplewhite to support literacy development, alongside engaging, hands-on resources to keep young learners motivated. My sessions are interactive, positive, and paced to ensure children feel successful and supported at every step.
Typical Length of a Lesson
Lessons typically last between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the child’s age, concentration level, and individual needs. Shorter sessions are recommended for younger children to maintain engagement, while older children may benefit from longer, more in-depth sessions.
Qualifications and Experience
I have over 10 years of academic and tutoring experience, working with children in both one-to-one and small group settings. I have supported schools in delivering targeted interventions and have extensive experience using structured literacy programmes.
