About Janaya

Hey! I'm Janaya and one of my favourite things is singing. I especially love musical theatre, which is why I want to help coach others :) I have also been classically trained, so overall I have a deep understanding of vocal techniques. I have been singing for almost 10 years and would love to help others to improve their technique and try new things with their voice. As I have taken vocal lessons for this long I also understand that it is a process of understanding how your body impacts your voice and that not all techniques work for everyone. So, I'm open to trying new things and making sure each lesson is focused on the student and their goals. I have lots of experience with teaching singing. In the last year this was mostly through directing and producing a musical. This also included one-on-one vocal coaching for the actors. Therefore, I am comfortable working with people to find the strategies that work best for them :)

About the lesson

Hi! My name is Janaya and I've always loved music and singing meaning I have a lot of experience: vocal lessons (9yrs) and choir and chamber choir (8yrs). I also have a year of experience in vocal coaching. My lessons are for singers of ANY AGE OR EXPERIENCE looking to improve vocal technique. Especially for those who want to sing more musical theatre. Typical lesson time: 30-60 MINUTES (depending on student needs). My lessons centre around the student; we would learn new songs they are interested in as well as expand their repertoire. As we go, we will focus on improving technique, expression and expanding their range. Over time we can work towards harder songs and try different genres and singing styles. Overall, I simply want to help students to be able to sing anything they want. Anything can be achieved with the correct training :)
