About Freya
My lessons show how math connects directly to everyday life, especially when it comes to managing money. We’ll explore financial literacy in a clear and engaging way, starting with the basics of interest and loans. I explain these ideas using real-life examples so they feel practical and easy to understand.
From there, we’ll dive into investment principles and see how math helps in making smart choices about saving and growing wealth. Budgeting strategies are another key focus, and together we’ll learn how numbers can guide us in planning for both short-term and long-term goals.
I create lessons where financial scenarios become problem-solving exercises, making abstract math feel concrete and useful. Every step is designed to build confidence, so that students feel capable of applying mathematical tools in real situations.
I support learners who may be preparing for careers or studies that need sharp analytical skills. By practicing with real-world examples, you’ll gain both mathematical understanding and the confidence to use it wisely.

I’m a Math tutor with over 7 years of teaching experience and a Master’s degree in Computational Mathematics. My teaching philosophy is rooted in making mathematics approachable for those who often feel it’s out of reach. Instead of overwhelming students with heavy computation, I focus on conceptual clarity and the big ideas that give mathematics its power.
I’ve worked extensively with liberal arts students, humanities scholars, and individuals who once carried a deep math phobia. By using everyday analogies, I show how abstract theories connect to the real world in surprising and meaningful ways. I also love weaving in historical context, because understanding where ideas came from often makes them easier to grasp.
My goal is to demystify advanced mathematical concepts by breaking them down into patterns and stories rather than intimidating formulas. I take a holistic approach, encouraging students to see math not as a rigid subject, but as a creative way of thinking.
