About Anne

With 11+ years of experience as a flute tutor, I have successfully trained around 150 students across different age groups and skill levels. I am dedicated to creating a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable and confident.

My teaching style focuses on clear communication and flexibility, allowing me to design lessons based on each student’s needs and pace. I emphasise building a strong foundation in breathing techniques, posture, fingering, and tone development. I include creative exercises, songs, and simple improvisation to make lessons engaging and enjoyable.

This helps students stay motivated and interested in learning. I am known for simplifying complex techniques and guiding students step by step. I also support students with basic music theory and listening skills. My aim is to help students grow steadily and enjoy music.

About the lesson

My approach to teaching flute is built on understanding each student’s learning style, maintaining flexibility, encouraging collaboration, and fostering a positive learning environment. I believe that effective teaching starts with knowing the student, so I carefully assess their needs, goals, and strengths before designing lessons.

Flute learning requires patience and proper technique, so I emphasise fundamentals such as posture, breathing, tone clarity, and finger coordination. I adapt my teaching methods depending on whether a student learns best through listening, demonstration, or practice-based activities.

Flexibility allows me to adjust lessons according to each student’s pace. Some students may need more time with basics, while others may be ready to explore advanced techniques and musical pieces. I ensure that each session is productive and engaging.

Collaboration is encouraged through interactive learning, where students are involved in decision-making, song selection, and creative exercises. This builds confidence and keeps them motivated.

Positivity is at the heart of my teaching. I create a safe and encouraging space where students feel comfortable expressing themselves. I also include related subjects like music theory, rhythm exercises, and listening skills to give a complete musical education.

My aim is to make flute learning enjoyable, structured, and rewarding for every student.
