Throughout my time in academia, I have found that you can achieve the grades you desire, if you know how you operate. If you are aware of what your weaknesses are, and what you are good at, I have no doubt that you will be able to build upon and work with them in order to achieve your goals, and I am here to help you do so! I have had quite the journey throughout my academic life, and I can empathise with the struggles you encounter.

A balance of professionalism and casualness are key. My lessons will have a relaxed, non judgemental, and patient atmosphere, so you are able to operate at your best. I believe structure is very important in achieving goals, which will be a key feature in my lessons, to ensure you get to the point you want to be at.

About the lesson

I am a Year 4 Mechanical Design Engineering student, and therefore I have been around math and physics for a very long time. I thoroughly enjoyed these subjects, and received high grades throughout my academic career. I believe I have a good understanding and can help you not only maximise your abilities, but also enjoy the process. I provide a very friendly atmosphere and am open to all questions and struggles you may have.

Firstly, I will have an in depth chat with you regarding your needs, expectations, what has worked for you in the past (if you know, otherwise we can figure it out together!) and of course, the details of the content you need help with. Once I have gauged this I am able to tailor the teaching style towards you. For example, this can be by theoretical knowledge, step by step breakdowns of the solutions, demonstrating and asking you to solve another example, etc. We can work with your own class work, or I am able to provide material too. I believe the ideal length of a lesson is 1 to 1.5 hours, where we will approach each problem systematically and curiously. Where needed, we can begin with the basics and progress onto more complex problems.

I am able to teach any level (I studied in Scotland, so we had National 4, National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher in high school, however I can teach the equivalent for the English education system too.) I am also able to help with Year 1 and 2 University level work, however as this will be more unique to each university, I will require you to provide some of your own materials.
