About Lizé

I am actually a full-time hockey player and part time student (my parents hate it when I say this). But basically I've always balanced a crazy schedule of high level sport and academics, but in 2023 I'm starting a Masters degree and want to use my new spare time well.

Outside of that I love the outdoors so you can find me hiking, trail running or body boarding all summer long. When the weather is bad I'm probably busy doing indoor rock climbing (obsessed with this right now) or spending all my money on oat milk matcha lattes at some farmer's market.

I believe in hard work but I also believe in balance and as someone who will soon enter the job market I have two mottos that I live by:

"Never hope for it more than you work for it"
and
"Don't spend so much time trying to make a living that you forget to make a life"

About the lesson

I am an excellent communicator in both English and Afrikaans and have an outstanding academic record throughout High School and University. I pride myself in being able to explain difficult concepts to people of any age or background. I believe in quality over quantity and want to use your time as efficiently as possible. I'm offering lessons in a few different areas:

- IT: I was the IT subject prize winner all throughout High school finishing Matric with 95% in the subject. My degree has also required tons of coding. I am best at helping students understand the logic behind coding and identifying key study points for tests. (background in: C, MATLAB, Python, JavaScript, SQL databases, Delphi and some Java, but can apply concepts to any language)

-Maths: Matric average>90% and many distinctions in math modules throughout university. I am very comfortable with all school level maths. Beyond that I have a strong preference for calculus, algebra/linear algebra and geometry/trigonometry, but I am less fond of stats and probability.

-Physics: Matric average>90% and many distinctions in university for various physics based modules. Most knowledge in the areas of electronics/circuits and electromagnetics, but also very comfortable with any vector based calculations and school level Newtonian physics. Not available for chemistry.

In general I'm looking to teach any age school kids (primary or high school) and I am open to university students based on the module of interest.
