About Sheila
I have been a teacher since 1984. I have taught many children, mostly those with special needs of some kind, but have several years of experience of teaching in mainstream secondary too, as well as bringing up two children of my own, both of whom are now teenagers.
Much of my teaching has been in special schools where the emphasis is on maximising each child's potential, whatever that is. This is where my excellent personalised teaching skills come in, helping anyone to make progress from the level they begin lessons with me. I have studied for my TEFL course, taught up to Foundation GCSE Maths level and can support with Key Stage 1 and 2 English.
I especially like to teach pupils who find learning difficult for some reason. I can teach at my home in Worcester City Centre or at the pupil's home within Worcester. I believe that catch-up lessons should begin as early as possible to give them the best chance of achieving their potential at GCSE level, so don't wait. I take pupils from around the age of eight up to adults wanting to make progress. If your child is a little behind, a slow worker or unmotivated, give me a try - it could make all the difference.

I have 30+ years of teaching experience across all age ranges. I am pupil focused which means my teaching is tailor-made to suit the abilities and learning styles of each pupil, essential for those who find learning that extra bit harder. I'm patient, fun, motivating, supportive and creative in my lesson design to bring out the best in each pupil.
