About Ella

Hi, I'm Ella! I'm a recent graduate from King's College London with a First Class degree in History. I specialised in the Global Cold War, modern Middle Eastern history and the history of public health but my education spanned a very broad range. I love History because it provides you with the opportunity to learn so much about the world and the people that inhabit it. In my free time I love to travel, read, learn new languages (I'm currently learning Arabic, Spanish and Portuguese) and sing classical and jazz music. I want to teach, first and foremost, because I absolutely love my subject and want to share that passion with others. Secondly, I have personal experience of the overwhelming difference it makes when you have a teacher that cares about your success and I hope I can enable other students to share that.

About the lesson

I utilise a student-centred approach to learning, acknowledging that every student learns in a different way and tailoring my lessons for the individual. Naturally, this will also be tailored for the level of study and I'm happy to adapt to different exam boards and student requirements. If you need help writing essays, sitting exams, revising or anything else - just let me know and I'm happy to help! The average lesson will be dependent on your needs, usually lasting 40mins to one hour but can last longer if preferred. I have three years' experience as a secondary school level educator with the charity Sexpression:UK from my time at university, as well as two occasions mentoring individual students at university and GCSE level in History. I would be happy to mentor students from GCSE level to first year History undergraduates.
