About Josue

I grew up in Lomé, Togo, a beautiful West African city where French is not something you study; it is simply how you live. I grew up with palm trees outside my window, the smell of family cooking during Christmas, and a culture built on warmth, community, and resilience. French was the language of all of it. It shaped who I am, and to this day, I believe it is one of the most beautiful languages in the world.

I came to the United States at 14 with nothing but that language and the determination my upbringing gave me. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Health Science, a Dental Assisting certificate, and I am currently finishing my MBA in Healthcare. That path taught me how to be disciplined, how to stay focused, and how to explain difficult things in ways that actually make sense, and I bring all of that into every session.
My tutoring experience started informally helping people around me who needed it. But what began casually became a genuine passion. I am patient by nature, encouraging by choice, and detail-oriented by habit. I like to keep things fun, but I take your progress seriously.

When you learn French with me, you are not just learning vocabulary and grammar. You are connecting with a language spoken across more than 30 countries from West Africa to the Caribbean to Europe. A language with history, soul, and beauty behind every word.

I am here because someone once believed in me. Now it is my turn.

About the lesson

Learning a new language can feel intimidating, trust me; I've been there. I arrived in the U.S. at 14 knowing only French and Ewe, and within six months, I was fluent in English. That didn't happen by magic. It happened because of patient, caring teachers who believed in me and walked with me every step of the way. That experience never left me, and it's exactly why I'm here.

My lessons don't start with "bonjour" and a vocabulary list. We start with the world: the incredible range of countries across Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, and beyond where French is spoken, loved, and lived every day. Once you see how vast and vibrant this language is, learning it feels less like a chore and more like an adventure.

From there, we build together. Some of my students just want to have a real conversation without freezing up. Others want the full package: grammar, structure, and a curriculum they can follow and track. Either way, I've got you. I shape every lesson around what you actually need.

No judgment here. No pressure. Whether you're picking up French for the very first time or reconnecting with a language you grew up hearing, you'll feel comfortable from session one.

I've recently finished my MBA in Healthcare, so I know a thing or two about juggling a busy life. I bring that same focus and commitment to every student I work with.
