About Allyson
I am a doctorate student at the University of Arkansas seeking a degree in food science. I have a bachelor's in Chemistry and Biology and maintained a 3.98 GPA in undergrad. I have tutored, in-person over 3000 hours during my undergraduate degree for the Chemistry Department. I have an additional 3000 hours of experience teaching English as a second language online. My goal at the end of my degree is to become a professor, as teaching is my passion. I consider myself effective at tutoring: Math (up to Calculus 2), Biology (any level), Food Science (any level), Chemistry (any level), English (any level), Any College-Level Science (Environmental, Biology, Microbiology, Psychology, etc).

My teaching method varies wildly depending on what the students need. A good teacher doesn't have a fixed approach. Instead, they assess the student and adjust. In general, I prefer to give a small lecture and show an example problem, then let the student try an example before moving onto their assignment or additional practice problems to show more examples.
