About Janel
I am a certified multiple subject teacher in the state of California. I have experience teaching in both an elementary school classroom as well as in a middle school math class. I am currently taking a break from teaching in the classroom in order to attain my special education teaching credentials through CSUN's teaching program. While furthering my education, I would like to continue putting my teaching experience to good use by teaching students one-on-one who need additional help in math.

My goal as a math teacher has always been is to take abstract math concepts and make them easier to remember for students with a variety of learning styles by using songs, whole body movement, and catchy phrases. As a former elementary school teacher as well as middle school math teacher, I understand the progression of skills needed to succeed in math. I am able to meet your student where they are at and help them build their skills in order to succeed in this years classes while also preparing them for the next step in their math learning journey.
