As an experienced educator with four years of expertise, I have developed a strong foundation in instructional design, operational efficiency, and creating supportive learning environments. My background in curriculum development, performance evaluation, and compliance with educational standards positions me well to drive student learning and development of skills. About the lesson

I approach teaching with a very relatable approach. Taking the information that is needing to be learned and approaching it in a way that makes it most feasible for you to understand by relating it to your experiences. I can tutor classes anywhere from 1st grade all the way to 12th, by scaffolding the learning and accessing your own prior knowledge. Through high probing questions, I am able to start at the most basic understanding that you have of a concept, and use scaffolded questions to get you to the main idea of what is needing to be understood from a particular concept. My typical lesson planning includes annotated lessons of my own work with what's being taught, as well as differentiation strategies throughout that will further enhance understanding. Being a teacher in the classroom has also provided me the opportunity to be a quick and adaptive thinker. Allowing me to be adaptive towards any adjustments that must be made to help with your understanding right on the spot.

Perfect! I can’t say enough good things about our experience with Angel. He is so great with kids and the lessons he puts together are thoughtful, thorough and interactive. If every teacher was like Angel, we would all be so lucky. My kids have quickly caught on to the math concepts he’s challenged them with. I would highly recommend Angel as he is sharp, energetic, punctual and very professional!

Suki has two wonderful children, Amina and Avery. They are both very dedicated to their learning, and they love math! With the work we are continuing to do they are both set out to become future math wizzes! In a world where math knowledge is often undermined, Amina and Avery’s eagerness to learn math is very heartwarming. They love to be active and physical when it comes to learning math and they are not afraid to make mistakes. Upon starting my tutoring business I was eager to finally be able to put into practice a lot of the things I could not do as a public school teacher. See, working with 85+ students every single day comes with many challenges. From lack of support, to student engagement, this made it difficult to carry out many of the skills and strategies I would have loved to implement. As I have begun private tutoring, it makes me joyful to finally practice and carry out teaching the way I choose to. For this reason, I've adjusted my pricing to better reflect the time I spend preparing and creating personalized lessons (~1.5hrs), communicating with parents to keep them involved and well-informed on all things education related, as well as travelling for the sessions. With my four years of experience teaching a diverse population of students with varying learning needs, I aim to ensure every session is intentional and tailored to your child's learning needs.
