About Susan
I have been tutoring for many years and have taken several long-term substitute teaching jobs that include teaching Math. While I want students to enjoy tutoring lessons my goal is to create a welcoming environment for my students and build a bond with them that is rooted in trust and respect. It is important to me that every student feels valued and supported throughout their learning journey. By prioritizing positive connections, I hope to inspire my students and help them reach their full potential.

When tutoring I like to tailor my lessons to what works best with my students. I have worked most with students K-12 but can work with adults. Please note while I am experienced teaching and/or tutoring Math up to Algebra 1 (beginning Algebra) I am not comfortable working with higher-level Math. Normal lessons for tutoring with me is a check-in question about previously covered material, followed by any new lesson and practice problems done both together and by the student with help as necessary, and would end with talking about what is going tobe covered in the next lesson if there well be one.
