About Byrone
I am a passionate Mathematics and Physics tutor with a BSc in Mathematics and Physics, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), and over four years of hands-on experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level students. As the Founder of Marlin STEM Virtual Academy, I bring both subject expertise and a genuine love for STEM education to every lesson I teach. My approach is student-centered — I combine clear explanations of concepts, worked examples, real-world applications, and exam-style practice to help each learner build confidence, deepen their understanding, and achieve measurable results. I teach Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics to secondary school, IGCSE, A-Level, and college students, and I tailor every session to the individual learner's pace, level, and goals. Lessons run 60–90 minutes online via Zoom or Google Meet, and my students benefit from continuous support outside class through Google Classroom and a dedicated WhatsApp community for resources, assignments, and academic guidance. Hello, I'm Byrone Onyango, an experienced Mathematics and Physics teacher with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Physics and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE). I have over five years of teaching experience delivering both the Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level curricula. I help students build confidence, master challenging concepts, and achieve excellent academic results.
I am also the founder of Marlin STEM Virtual Academy, where I support learners through personalized and engaging STEM education.
My teaching approach is learner-centered and focuses on understanding rather than memorization. I begin by assessing each student's strengths, weaknesses, and learning goals, then tailor lessons to meet their individual needs.
I use a combination of guided instruction, problem-solving exercises, real-world applications, past examination questions, and continuous assessment to ensure deep understanding and long-term retention. I encourage students to ask questions freely and develop critical thinking skills that extend beyond the classroom.
A typical lesson lasts between 40 and 60 minutes, depending on the learner's level and objectives. Lessons are structured to include concept review, guided practice, independent problem-solving, and feedback. For examination classes, I place special emphasis on revision techniques, exam strategies, and question analysis to improve performance.
