The most basic and fundamental point that makes someone a good teacher is the ability to make the student feel comfortable to ask questions about anything, even the simplest of things, that he/she might find it difficult. The basics about a particular topic must be made clear before approacing for the tougher sections.

I have had the pleasure of knowing anand sharma as a member of our Scholars program and as a student for the last four years. The Scholars program seeks to recruit students who are positive, determined, and who accept responsibility for their actions. anand is all of these things and more. From the first day as a freshman, I knew he would be going places.
In my 14 years of teaching I have had encountered numerous students with talent. Anand,
however, is at the top of my list. While other students may be happy just getting by, Anand is
not. He regularly comes in early and stays late to ensure that all of his assignments exceed
expectations. He seeks out advice even when it means additional work is required. He also
has realistic goals that will take him far beyond his current situation. anand has taken on a part-time job to help make ends meet at home.
Juan is not a quitter. Being from a joint family has not been easy for him, but he has demonstrated incredible maturity while balancing school, work, home life, and community service activities. His
grades have continued to rise in spite of his challenging circumstances.
His commitment to others and leadership ability is evident in the type of community service he
chooses to participate in. After a fire devastated his community, he put together a fundraising campaign to raise money for families affected by the fire. he also contacted Habitat for Humanity and lobbied to get them involved in the rebuilding effort.anand was quick
to lend a hand and utilize his talents as a carpenter when rebuilding his neighbor’s house.
When I think about all the qualities I respect in an individual – determination, integrity,
leadership, hard work, and tenacity – I think of him. I am confident that this will not be the
last time you see the name anand sharma in print. I highly recommend Anand for this teaching work.
I am writing to recommend anand for a teaching position.
As a colleague, anand has always been reliable and organized – he was always the first to work on his syllabus and find the right teaching methods for each of his classes . He also readily lead our volunteering activities, including participation in reforestation efforts of nearby areas.
anand was one of our best educators, firm but always finding ways to engage students. One example is a history competition he organized prompting teams students to write and reenact dialogues between two important historical figures during a historical event. Students loved this and learned a lot about various times of our history.
Also, I’ve always put a premium on integrity and honesty and he never failed to deliver on both fronts.
All in all, Richard is a delight to work with – a dedicated educator with a positive attitude. I wouldn’t hesitate to work with him again if the opportunity arose.View more recommendations
