About Livia

My passion for French grew from a love of language, literature, and cultural exploration. I earned a B.A. in French Studies and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics, equipping me with both scholarly knowledge and effective teaching methods. Over 9 years of teaching, I have helped learners develop fluency, comprehension, and appreciation for the French language and Francophone cultures.

I adopt a patient, adaptable, and interactive teaching style. Lessons are tailored to each learner’s needs, incorporating practical exercises, speaking practice, cultural insights, and reading comprehension. My goal is to help students feel confident, capable, and motivated in their language learning journey.

Outside the classroom, I engage with French through literature, media, travel, and cultural studies. Teaching is deeply rewarding because I witness students transform from hesitant learners to confident speakers, capable of communicating fluently and effectively. Supporting learners in achieving practical fluency and cultural awareness is at the heart of my work.

About the lesson

French lessons are most effective when students can link language skills with cultural understanding and real-life usage. My approach emphasizes grammar, verb conjugation, sentence construction, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading comprehension, listening, and conversational practice. I focus on creating an engaging and supportive environment where students can comfortably practice speaking, make mistakes, and gradually gain fluency.

Beginners concentrate on essential phrases, pronunciation, present tense, basic sentence formation, and interactive exercises. Intermediate learners expand grammar, verb tenses, idiomatic expressions, conversational confidence, and writing skills. Advanced learners work on complex grammatical structures, professional writing, oral presentations, and nuanced comprehension of literature and culture. Lessons integrate roleplay, dialogues, and real-world examples to make learning practical and dynamic.

Learning French builds not only language competence but also confidence, critical thinking, and cross-cultural awareness. Many students feel proud when they can communicate naturally, understand media, or write accurately. Over time, learners develop fluency, independence, and the ability to express themselves authentically. My goal is to make French learning engaging, enjoyable, and deeply effective.
