About Capucine

I am a third-year student at Brown University in the United States, I was born and grew up in France but also lived in several countries such as Taiwan, Australia, the UK and more recently the US. I speak several languages but French is my native one. I have been a tutor since I was 16 years old, for both maths and French. At Brown, I am a teaching assistant to the French department and have been in charge of five to six students with different levels in French every semester. I am passionate about music, journalism and literature. I would be very happy to share my native language with you!

About the lesson

I have been teaching to beginners, intermediary and advanced students of all different ages. I taught one-on-one as well as to groups, hence, my methodology varies depending on the level of the student I am teaching to. For beginners I will start with an introduction to basic vocabulary, sentence structures and conjugaison. For intermediary students, I will try to develop their oral skill as much as possible, by discussing, but also making them read French articles or short stories where they will be able to expand their vocabulary. Finally, for advanced students depending on their interests and own background, I will try to deepen their communication and writing skills. Obviously, each student is different and has their personal interest and goal, as such, I easily adapt to specific needs and find new ways to teach in a fun yet efficient way.
