About Ross

Hello! My name's Ross Geiger, I am twenty-six years old, and I currently live in Falmouth, Cornwall. At the age of twelve, I was abruptly uprooted from my home in Guildford, and moved with my family to Normandy, France. I was soon thereafter placed in a school with no English speakers. Having very little prior knowledge of French, I was forced to adapt quickly. Six months later, I had learnt the language well enough that I began to surpass my fellow classmates, native speakers all! This experience taught me how learning a language works. While it's all very well to study conjugation tables and hop on language learning apps every once in a while, the best way to learn is immersion. Through my lessons, I will seek to simulate this immersion for you, taking the role of the teachers and classmates that helped me along my own language learning journey. Together, we'll get you where you need to go!

About the lesson

- We will begin by establishing your current level and working goals, whether this be to pass your tests, improve your understanding, or even to achieve fluency. - You will be encouraged to speak, read, and write in French as much as possible during lessons, and I will primarily communicate with you in French. - Lessons will include some homework, but nothing too strenuous—primarily watching, and consuming French-language media. - All ages and experience welcome. Lessons are thirty minutes to an hour, depending on format and goals. Longer lessons may be requested.
