I grew up in Montreal, Canada and learned French from an early age. While in school I studied French for four years in high school, and graduated with a bachelor's degree from Western University with Specialization in French Studies. I have teaching experience of 8+ years.

One of my greatest strengths is my ability to approach an unfamiliar learning environment with more optimism than hesitation. I consistently endeavor to foster a productive and eager classroom environment. To accomplish this, I deliver lessons and activities in an authentic and relatable fashion, thereby capturing the attention of all students, as well as helping to develop their overall love for and growth in learning. A unique strategy I use specifically for French language instruction is the use of gestures, visuals, sounds, and various other sorts of animation to ensure the development of a diverse set of learners, and I have found that this is applicable to various other subjects as well. In order to break down barriers of intimidation accompanying collaborative group tasks, I encourage the active participation of all students, teaching them to value difference. I incorporate a great deal of authentic conversational experiences, especially during language instruction, and not just between teacher and student, but more importantly between students, which empowers them to be leaders. Cultivating strong working relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to sustain a positive and nurturing school community is a top priority of mine.
