My approach really depends on the student. I usually ask my students what they want to get out of their classes and adapt my methods to their goals.
I'm a firm believer that language learning should be fun and relaxed. I try to keep communication natural and authentic by having real conversations about real subjects (rather than sticking to scripts that can be found in text books). In an hour class I aim to touch on more than one aspect of the language conversational practice, pronunciation exercises, listening to authentic videos, discussing grammar in context etc. Finally, I am open to suggestions from students. If they need to work on something specific I can prepare my classes to focus on the area needed.
