About Bella

I’m a native Mandarin speaker based in central London and currently working as a professional in the UK. I’ve also previously taught Mandarin through a university society, where I supported students from complete beginners to advanced learners.

I really enjoy helping people feel comfortable and confident using Mandarin in real-life situations, and I focus on making lessons clear, practical, and encouraging.

With a background in management, I understand that many learners want Mandarin they can actually use (for travel, work, exams, or everyday conversations). The lessons are completely for you, from speaking practices, listening, reading, and cultural insights such as Chinese etiquette, tell me what you like to focus on and I can tailor the lesson for you.

I’m flexible with how and where we learn. I offer both online and in-person lessons, and I’m happy to meet in zone 1 at a café or at your place for face-to-face sessions, depending on what suits you best.

I also volunteer regularly and hold a valid DBS check, so I’m happy to teach both children and adults.

My aim is to make Mandarin feel approachable, enjoyable, and genuinely useful, whatever your starting level.

• Clear explanations: I’m always happy to explain grammar and answer your questions, especially if you’re preparing for exams or want to understand how the language really works.

• Levels: From complete beginners to advanced learners.

• Age groups: Children, teenagers, university students and adults are all welcome.

• Safety: I volunteer regularly and hold a valid DBS check.
