About Emma
Hi! I’m a lifelong learner and passionate educator with a PhD in Behavioral Neurobiology and Psychology from the University of Oklahoma. Before that, I earned my Master’s in Psychology and my undergrad degrees in Psychology and Cognitive Science at the University of Georgia (go Dawgs!). I'm originally from Atlanta and have always loved helping others make sense of complex ideas. With years of experience teaching and mentoring students, I know that learning can sometimes feel overwhelming—but it doesn’t have to. I’m here to help you feel more confident, capable, and in control of your coursework, whether it’s statistics, coding, psychology, or neuroscience. My goal is to meet you where you are and help you move forward—step by step—with clarity, encouragement, and practical strategies that work.

My tutoring approach is flexible, student-focused, and grounded in clear, practical explanation. I believe that every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to meet your specific needs—whether that’s mastering foundational concepts, tackling tricky assignments, or preparing for exams. A typical session starts with identifying where you're stuck or what you want to improve. From there, we break down the material into understandable, manageable pieces, using examples that make sense to you. I combine clear explanations with real-time practice and check-ins to make sure things are clicking. What sets me apart is my background as a PhD in Behavioral Neurobiology and Psychology, combined with years of experience teaching and mentoring students at all levels. I know what it’s like to face dense material and unclear expectations—and how to overcome those hurdles. These lessons are ideal for undergraduate or graduate students studying statistics, coding (R, Python, SPSS), psychology, logic, neuroscience, or general research design and writing, especially if you're feeling overwhelmed or just want to strengthen your understanding. Whether you're aiming to pass a class, polish a thesis, or just finally “get” stats—I’m here to help you reach your goals with confidence.
