About Jesenya

My journey in mental health began at 19 years old when I started working as an Administrative Assistant in an inpatient psychiatric unit. Psychology has always fascinated me—not only through my education, but also through life experiences, personal growth, and the many different people and situations I've encountered along the way.

Mental health and psychology are complex fields. While the science behind human behavior is fascinating, it can also feel overwhelming and intimidating to students who are just beginning their journey. That's where I can help.

My goal is to make psychology more approachable by connecting what you learn in the classroom to real-world experiences. Whether you're trying to understand a diagnosis, explore career paths in mental health, or discover which area of psychology best fits your interests, I'm here to support your growth and confidence.

I take a non-traditional approach to tutoring. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all method, I tailor each session to the individual student. Together, we'll develop a personalized plan based on your goals, learning style, strengths, and areas where you need the most support. My focus is on helping you build understanding, confidence, and practical skills that extend beyond the classroom.

Learn Psychology Through Real-World Clinical Experience

I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Forensic Psychology and have worked across a variety of mental health and human services settings, including:

Inpatient behavioral health
Outpatient mental health services
Correctional and jail settings
Child and adolescent services
Case management

My passion is helping students bridge the gap between what they learn in class and how psychological concepts appear in real-world settings.
