About Malick

I am a qualified teacher, I attained my PGCE at University College London and was a teaching assistant at the British School of Paris for three years.

I've been a mentor, teacher, foster brother and football coach amongst many other things to young men both in England and in France. Its been a privilege to be able to work with such a wide range of personalities, cultures and backgrounds. My way of maximising engagement is to listen to my students, work out what excites them, what they are passionate about and use that to build a foundation for a strong relationship. Further to this I use this to inspire the work I do, for example my lesson planning. I am incredibly passionate about football and films have a deep interest in F1, sci-fi novels, podcasts, animated shows etc. and I use my knowledge of these very things to engage in conversations that give them the room to express themselves and me the information I need to really connect and engage them in activities.

I am also very personable, open and honest and working with young people has humbled me at times and inspired me as well. I have always engaged with people with the understanding that I can learn just as much from them as they can learn from me, giving them that agency can work wonders when teaching.

About the lesson
