About Crosby

With 4 years of teaching experience and over 150 students successfully taught, I am a flute tutor dedicated to helping students of all levels achieve their musical goals. My lessons focus on technical development—breath control, tone, finger agility, and rhythm—while also fostering creativity and personal expression.

I tailor lessons to each student’s learning style, pace, and interests, making learning effective and enjoyable. I also provide instruction in sight-reading, music theory, and performance preparation, helping students gain confidence and versatility. My mission is to cultivate skilled, expressive, and inspired flautists.

About the lesson

My flute teaching methodology is designed to offer a flexible, collaborative, and positive learning experience. I begin by understanding each student’s learning style and tailoring lessons to their individual strengths, pace, and musical interests. This ensures lessons are effective, enjoyable, and productive.

Flexibility allows me to adapt exercises, repertoire, and practice methods according to the student’s progress and goals. Collaboration is emphasised through duets, group practice, and ensemble exercises that enhance confidence, musical expression, and teamwork. Positivity guides every lesson, creating a nurturing environment where students feel inspired to experiment, learn from mistakes, and celebrate success.

In addition to flute instruction, I integrate music theory, sight-reading, rhythm exercises, and ear training. This comprehensive methodology develops technical skill, expressive ability, and musical understanding, helping students grow into confident, versatile, and passionate musicians.
