About Ali

Science is a massive passion of mine. I believe science is a subject that provides answers to the world's problem.

I have been teaching since I was 18 (now I'm north of 30) so I have a wealth of experience that I can bring with me.

To combine my two passions of teaching and science into one and inspire the next generation of future scientists is a goal of mine.

As mentioned in the previous section, I am very experienced and this is a key to my success. I will be able to provide full resources of lessons and exam questions.

About the lesson

I am an experienced high school teacher. I specialise in biology but I can teach ALL sciences comfortably up to GCSE level. I can also teach up to GCSE Maths.

My lessons are typically 1hr in length and are a mixture of teacher led, but I also challenge and engage learners through constant quizzing and exam question practice. I firmly believe in researched-based learning such as Rosenshine's principals. I constantly model whatever learning is taking place using 'I do' and 'You do' techniques.

I am currently the head of the science department and I have been teaching for over 9 years. I hold BSc, MRes degrees in science and also a PGCE in science education. I have been tutoring over 14 years and I am fully DBS checked. Whether you require a quick revision boost during exam season. Or you need exam practice/technique, I can support and cater all your needs.

I specialise in the following:
- GCSE Combined science (AQA, Edexcel & OCR)
- GCSE Triple science
- KS3 science (year 7 and 8)
- Maths KS3/KS4
