About Finan
I have a BS in Evolutionary Biology from the Evergreen State College. During my initial studies in genetics, my professor was impressed with my help given freely to classmates. This led to tutoring genetics for one of his future classes.
I am warm, friendly, and excited to use the Socratic method to help students learn in an empowering way.

I like to help students work through problems. When they get stuck I ask questions pointing them in the right direction and solve example problems to demonstrate possible methods. I try to understand the ways students are approaching a problem so I can see what they might be missing.
